Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is red light therapy?

Red light (typically 630–660 nm) and near-infrared light (approximately 800–1100 nm) are used in photobiomodulation to support cellular energy production. These wavelengths are commonly applied in routines focused on skin health and physical recovery. The method is non-invasive and generally considered safe when used as directed.

What is PBM (Photobiomodulation)?

Photobiomodulation (PBM), commonly known as red and near-infrared light therapy, is the use of specific wavelengths of light to influence cellular activity. It is non-invasive and based on controlled light exposure.

How does red vs near-infrared light work?

Red light primarily affects the surface of the skin, while near-infrared light penetrates deeper into tissue (muscles and joints). Together, they target both superficial and deeper layers.

Which CUVLÈ product is right for me?

CUVLÈ Face is designed for focused facial care, while CUVLÈ panels are designed for broader body use, including areas such as the back, legs, shoulders and larger skin areas. If your main focus is facial care, CUVLÈ Face is the most targeted choice. If you want a more versatile device for recovery, body use and larger treatment areas, a panel is the better option.

What is the difference between a panel and CUVLÈ Face?

CUVLÈ panels are built for broader coverage across the body and are well suited for recovery-focused routines, larger skin areas and deeper tissue support. CUVLÈ Face is designed specifically for facial use, with wavelengths selected for skin-focused care. The panel offers wider body coverage, while the mask is focused on the face.

Can I use a CUVLÈ panel and CUVLÈ Face together?

Yes. A CUVLÈ panel and CUVLÈ Face can be used as part of the same routine. CUVLÈ Face is designed for focused facial care, while a panel can be used for larger areas of the body. Follow the guidance for each product and keep your routine consistent rather than excessive.

How long and how close should I use it?

Effective dosage depends on distance and exposure time. A typical range is 15–30 cm. Too close may cause excessive local exposure, while too far reduces effectiveness. Start with shorter sessions (around 10 minutes) and adjust gradually.

How often should I use CUVLÈ?

Consistency matters more than intensity. We recommend following the usage guidance provided with your product. Many users include red and near-infrared light therapy several times per week as part of a routine for skin, recovery and overall wellbeing. Results build gradually, and the most effective routine is usually one that is measured, consistent and easy to maintain.

When will I see results?

Results vary depending on the goal:
Recovery: days to weeks
Skin: weeks to months
Consistency is key; occasional use usually delivers less noticeable results.

Can I use skincare products with CUVLÈ Face?

We recommend using CUVLÈ Face on clean, dry skin. This allows the light to reach the skin without interference from heavy creams, oils or reflective products. After your session, you can continue with your usual skincare routine.

Is CUVLÈ suitable for sensitive skin?

Red and near-infrared light are generally well tolerated by many skin types, including sensitive skin. If your skin is reactive, begin with shorter sessions and allow your skin to adjust gradually. If you experience irritation or discomfort, pause use and continue only when the skin feels calm.

Can I use CUVLÈ after cosmetic treatments?

CUVLÈ can be part of a thoughtful skin routine, but timing matters. After treatments such as microneedling, chemical peels, laser procedures or injections, follow the guidance of your practitioner and wait until the skin has recovered before using CUVLÈ on the treated area.

Is it safe?

Red light LED devices are generally low risk when used as directed. Avoid looking directly into the diodes, keep sessions comfortable, adjust distance if the panel feels too warm, and stop use if discomfort occurs.

Do I need to protect my eyes?

Do not look directly into the LEDs. Protective eyewear or keeping your eyes closed is recommended for comfort, especially during face and upper-body sessions.

Who should consult a doctor first?

Individuals with light sensitivity (e.g. certain medications or skin conditions) or eye conditions should consult a physician before use. Pregnant individuals should avoid direct exposure to the abdominal area without medical advice.
